Top Engagement Photo Locations in Northern Colorado
I’m here to help you out by sharing my top engagement photo locations in Northern Colorado! There are so many beautiful locations, it was hard to narrow down my list! From the beautiful sunsets at Horsetooth Reservoir, to the mountain vistas in Estes Park, these are a few locations I’ve come back to time and time again that make for amazing engagement photos!
When you are starting the planning process for your engagement session there’s a lot to consider, but the location is one of the most important parts! I will always encourage you to share any ideas you both may have with me so I can scout the perfect location to suit your vision. I hope this list helps you when planning your perfect engagement photoshoot!
#1 Horsetooth Reservoir – Horsetooth Res (as the locals call it) in Fort Collins, CO is a perfect location if you’re looking for a mix of gorgeous mountain landscapes, epic views & water that seems to sparkle no matter what time of day! I won’t give away all my secret spots but driving 5-10 min from here can be a huge difference in perspective and create so many amazing images to choose from. If you LOVE nature, hiking and the water look no further than Horsetooth.
#2 Estes Park – With a national treasure just inside Estes Park you can’t go wrong having your engagement photoshoot here! Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the nation’s BEST parks! The drive from Fort Collins is about 1 hour so make sure to plan ahead when choosing this as your location. There is also a few other considerations such as the timed entry system that is in effect until October 2022. The link above will have all of the info you need to make your reservation. If you’d still love mountain views but don’t want to enter the national park don’t worry! There are a TON of options near the park where you don’t have to pay an entry fee and are stunning! My favorite time to take engagement photos here is about 1-2 hours prior to sunset. You won’t want to miss the opportunity for that beautiful alpenglow & those amazing cotton candy skies!
#3 Old Town Fort Collins- I feel like I could go on and on about why I love old town FOCO sooooo much! One reason for sure is that I got engaged here. Ask me to tell you the story of how that magical moment happened for me as it’s one for the movies! I’d recommend turning your engagement session into a whole date night! Start by having dessert first at our favorite little gem called Nuance Chocolate. Enjoy a special dinner together and walk hand in hand under the twinkle lights afterwards. Maybe even swing by my favorite place to have some fun, Pinball Jones for a pint and trip down memory lane. They have all the best old games! Old town stole my heart and I know you’ll LOVE it too!
